Recent STAR Level 1 Award recipient:
Ahtna Construction & Primary Products Co.
A Level 1 Team STAR award was presented to ACPPC’s Main Line Integrity Investigation Crew in recognition of their contribution to Ahtna’s Safety, Health, and Environmental Program (SHEP).
While the night shift of ACPPC’s Main Line Integrity Investigation Crew was traveling from their work location at Trans Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) Pump Station 03, MP 312 on the Dalton Highway, to their lodging accommodations at TAPS Pump Station 04, MP 269, they encountered heavy winds and drifting snow. At MP 285, the road was completely blocked by two tractor-trailer rigs stuck in large snowdrifts. Despite having already worked a 12-hour shift, the night shift crew spent over two hours manually removing snow to clear the road and free the stranded vehicles. Their efforts exemplify Ahtna’s safety culture, preparedness, willingness to go above and beyond their job, and readiness to assist others in distress.
We appreciate the team effort made toward our mission to provide a safe and healthy work environment for our employees, the clients we serve, and the wider community.
